About Trainer Erin Moussallem

I decided to become a personal trainer when I discovered that it allowed me to do two of my favorite things: teach, and share my passion for health and fitness with others. Exercise has completely changed my physical and mental health, and I want to share the lasting impacts of fitness with as many others as possible.
Though I’ve always loved moving and being active, I have not always held a consistent training routine. I am a real person, with real struggles. I’ve battled eating disorders, weight gain, extreme weight loss, body image issues, anxiety, depression, and the like. At times I’ve struggled with the mentality that I’m too busy to workout, or too tired to prepare myself a healthy meal.
A few years ago I promised myself I’d exercise at least three times a week during the year ahead. That’s it. Just break a sweat, at least three times a week. It was a manageable goal, and I found myself able to stick with it. And then something surprising happened. During a very stressful season of life, I began to find that working out was actually helping cure my anxiety. I felt so much mentally clearer and happier when I chose to do something good for my health. Then I began incorporating a fourth day of exercise during the week, and then occasionally a fifth. After that year, I decided that I loved what I was doing so much, that I wanted to be able to share it with others. I began studying to become a personal trainer so I could help others achieve the same mental and physical benefits of regular exercise.
I currently train in-person at Hyatt Training in Portland, Oregon, and offer online coaching for anyone (anywhere!) who wants to follow an individualized program to help them meet their health and fitness goals.
